Screen Paneling To Keep The Bugs Out of Your Garage
The modern garage door is a fine, yet simple, piece of machinery. It really only has one major problem in that there is no way to keep bugs out when it is open. Or is there?
I tend to spend a large amount of time in my garage during the summer. If I am not building this, I am repairing that. When goofing around, you have to have the garage door open unless you want to pretend you are living in a microwave oven. It gets broiling hot! Open the door though and you just might get eaten alive.

So, what can you do? The answer has long confounded homeowners. There are some cheap screen like products on the market, but most of them are not particularly great. Okay, they barely work at all and last about as long as a barn in Kansas in the middle of the path of a tornado. Well, one man had enough and came up with a solution.
Dennis Englund lives in Illinois, a place where bugs can definitely be an issue. He used the Velcro screens you see in Home Depot and the like, but got sick of them failing so quickly. Being a God fearing American Man, he assumed he could do better himself and set out to prove it. The end result is a screen panel system that even has a door in it. The panels keep the bugs out when you are working, but then fold up when you are done and need to close the door.

Englund hasn’t really taken his idea and run with it yet. Instead of seeking out a bunch of money to mass produce the screens, he is building them by hand on his own. You can’t order them through a store. You can’t order them online. You have to call him at 815-704-5214. The upshot of this, however, is he will build them custom for your garage space for anywhere between $275 and $600. Would you pay that to keep the bugs out? I would.
