All doors today come with a safety feature that will stop the door from closing if something is in its path. To test this feature, place something in the way of the door to be sure that the door stops. If it does not stop, adjust this feature by pressing the reset button on the remote.
Since doors are often very heavy, it is important that the safety feature be engaged at all times. You never know when a child or pet may run underneath the door, so it is always a good idea to be sure that the door will stop.
