Garage Door Adjustment

If you are in need of a garage door adjustment, don’t worry – this process is easy, painless, and entirely simple to complete on your own.

While many parts of fixing your home will require professional help, getting through a garage door adjustment is not one of them. Believe it or not, that small remote that you have in your possession holds all the answers to your door woes. Before you make any change though, be sure that you know what the problem is. After all, you don’t want to fix something that isn’t really broken, do you?

To begin, find out what it is that your door isn’t doing. For example, is it having a hard time reading a remote signal from far away? Is the door going down too slowly? Are you finding that the door isn’t all that safe? All of these things can be fixed with your remote once you figure out what the problem is. If you think that your door does not have enough force behind it, you will have to adjust the force by turning the small screws that are located on the side of the remote.

Likewise, if you think that your door cannot determine a signal from the remote, you can adjust the signal strength by turning the screw that is next to the force screw. The only type of garage door adjustment that cannot be fixed with your remote (well, not entirely) is the safety feature. All modern doors should stop once they detect that there is an object in the way. In order to determine this, place an inanimate object in the way of the door, and watch to see whether or not the door stops. If not, read the remote instructions to figure out what screw to turn.

In the end, it is really just a matter of getting it all set perfectly. While they may seem confusing, garage doors are not difficult to handle at all. Once you know how to master them, you can fix, adjust, and repair a door in a flash. As with anything else, it’s all about the amount of knowledge that you have regarding a particular item.

Remember that your remote is your best friend when it comes to that garage door adjustment. Use the screws on the remote in order to fix the door to your specifications, and don’t forget t check that safety feature.
