Try switching out the batteries and see if that does the trick. Look at the battery connections to make sure there isn’t grit and gunk on them that might block the flow of energy.
You’ve got new batteries and the problem still exists. Now what? Common problems have common solutions. The opener works by shooting a radio wave to the receiver. Yes, I am talking about a neighbor that has a garage door opener or other device that is interfering with your signal. When you see the red light flashing, it means either you have a low battery or there are excessive radio waves in the area. This creates “noise” and your opener can’t “hear” your opener. This is a very common problem in condominium and townhome areas. There is no simple solution but to walk around and talk to the neighbors. Usually you can find a solution by identifying the one that is having similar problems with their doors.
